MAKING A DIFFERENCE TO THE SUNSHINE COAST

Mindfulness in Movement is a small business with a big heart. Our passion is health in both body and mind, and we genuinely care about our clients.

Our dedicated team of mobile Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEP) have extensive experience supporting clients with disabilities, injuries and health conditions to improve their lives through movement.

We’re all about fostering meaningful relationships, whether it’s with your AEP, community, or yourself. Because we are flexible and community-based, we’re able to provide treatments in homes around the Sunshine Coast, where you’re most comfortable. This is perfect for anyone who has barriers to leaving the house.

At the same time, we are well-connected across the coast, and can help you to engage with your local community facilities and programs. This applies to you whether you have a physical condition or mental illness; we are great at reducing the barriers that might stop you exercising.

If you’d like to find out if Mindfulness in Movement can work with you, connect with Susanne.

Susanne Goldin-Founder and Accredited Exercise Physiologist- Mindfulness In Movement

SUSANNE GOLDIN
FOUNDER | ACCREDITED EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST | YOGA + MINDFULNESS TEACHER

As an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and yoga teacher, I recognise the importance of the need for a unified mind, body and breath connection to support one’s health and recovery and to optimise well-being.

With a Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology and Rehabilitation and a professional background spanning over fifteen years in preventive health and rehabilitation, I have continued to be fascinated by the architecture of the human body and how all of our bodily systems interact with one another.

My study, teaching and most of all my personal practice of yoga and mindfulness has further deepened my understanding for the need to develop a powerful connection of the mind-body-breath to support one’s health, well being and recovery.

I am experienced in supporting clients with disabilities and a multitude of injuries, illnesses and health conditions and have a special interest in mental health and illness, chronic pain and complex physical disabilities but most of all my focus is you.

To learn a little more about me, take the time to read the story behind Mindfulness In Movement.

Lach McAlister- Accredited Exercise Physiologist- Mindfulness In Movement

LACH
ACCREDITED EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

Hi, I’m Lach, clinical exercise physiologist with Mindfulness in Movement. Over the years I’ve spent time delivering cardiac, neuromuscular and pulmonary rehabilitation while working in the fields of public health, disability services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait lslander community health.

I have a passion in supporting individuals with autism and neurodevelopment challenges to flourish, with a keen interest in children and young people within these communities.

I believe in person centred care and the need to look at the unique differences that define each of us as individuals, to optimise overall health. I’m an advocate for patient education and believe exercise is medicine, with significant health benefits, minus the side effects.

When not at work you may find me on the touch field, surfing or bouldering.

CARLA
ACCREDITED EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST

My interest in becoming an Exercise Physiologist stemmed from my own personal experience with improving my health and wellbeing with exercise, beginning with regular walking and Pilates. I discovered the benefits of exercise for improving both mental and physical wellbeing and I was inspired to learn more about these benefits to be able to help others to achieve their health and wellness goals. I have a special interest in the mind-body connection and have a desire to continue to learn as much as possible in this space to be able to provide the best possible support through person-centred education, awareness and exercise prescription.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing guitar and singing, and enjoying the incredible outdoors that the Sunshine Coast has to offer.

SARAH
ACCREDITED EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGIST | DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER

Hi, I’m Sarah, and I’m passionate about helping people feel their best through movement and exercise. As an accredited Clinical Exercise Physiologist, I take a holistic approach to health, focusing not just on physical movement but also on mental well-being.

I believe that movement is a powerful tool for building confidence and independence, improving mobility, and enhancing quality of life.

I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life to help them achieve their personal goals. My aim is always to create a welcoming and supportive environment. I love helping people discover what they’re capable of, and I’m here to encourage them every step of the way.

In my spare time, you’ll find me soaking up the sun at the beach with my Kelpie, going on walks with friends (with a coffee in hand, of course), or enjoying some aerial yoga/Pilates. I also love discovering new hidden gems around the Sunshine Coast to unwind and recharge.

KARA
DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER | ALLIED HEALTH ASSISTANT | SURF COACH

I have always loved being active and am a big believer in healthy body, healthy mind! I have a degree in Sport and Exercise Science and, I have experience working in the health and community sector as a support worker, for children, teens and adults, and as an allied health assistant, working in exercise and rehabilitation. I am also studying part time to complete a bachelor’s degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology.

I am a surf coach, for beginner right through to advanced, and have had the privilege of working for a few years in the surf therapy space, facilitating conversations about mental health and sharing the benefits of mindfulness (my favourite way to practice mindfulness is in the water!)

I am a empathetic and energetic person, who thrives of helping others. In the ocean, in nature and in the gym are my happy places. This is where I find my energy and clear my mind.

CARLY
DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER

My name is Carly and I am a support worker with a degree in clinical exercise physiology. I have been working in the industry in both a client-facing and academic capacity for around 5 years, both here at the Sunshine Coast and over in Scotland! I am currently undertaking my PhD at UniSc in positive psychology, exercise and chronic disease management.

As I currently spend a lot of time researching, working as a support worker allows me to still be meaningfully involved with people, the community and outside world (which I value so highly). I am very fortunate that my exercise physiology experience also means I have a comprehensive understanding of the body, mental health, disabilities and communication. My PhD is in positive psychology and exercise, so I love being able to implement those principles, whether it's through spending quality time, exercising or going out on adventures.

Our mind and body is our vessel to experiencing the world. As a support worker my hope is to assist you in experiencing the world, in a way that is meaningful for you.
